Changes to SYC Registration Process and Fees for 2025
The Springfield Youth Club (SYC) has announced important updates to its registration process and fee structure for the 2025 season. These changes will impact all four of its programs: Tackle Football, Flag Football, Field Cheer, and Competition Cheer.
Updated Fees for Football Programs
In 2025, the costs for all football programs will change due to operational adjustments with our new league membership, and rising equipment costs. The new fees are as follows:
- Tackle Football: $275 per player (an increase of $25 to offset rising costs of football helmets and other equipment)
- Flag Football: $150 per player (a decrease due to SYC operating a new league with only teams from Springfield and Ridley, instead of participating in the Bert Bell league)
Additionally, any registrations completed after July 1, 2025, will incur a $25 late fee across all programs.
Changes to Competition Cheer Registration
A significant change for Competition Cheer participants is that a portion of their total fee will now be collected upfront during registration via TeamSnap. This $150 fee does not include any travel or additional competition costs, which will be announced and collected separately from registration. The remaining balance will still be due later in the season, with fundraising opportunities available to help offset costs as usual.
All competition cheerleaders must register separately for Field Cheer, as was the case in previous years, and Field Cheer is always available as an option without participating in Competition.
The updated cheer program fees are:
- Field Cheer: $150 per participant
- Competition Cheer: $150 deposit per participant (additional costs to follow)
While fundraising will still be available to help offset individual and family costs, these changes aim to provide better financial planning for families. More details about fundraising opportunities will be shared later in the year.
Multi-Child Discounts
Multi-child discounts will still be available for Football and Field Cheer costs. The available discounts are:
- 2 children: $20 credit
- 3 children: $60 credit
- 4 children: $120 credit
New Payment Plan Options
To assist families with budgeting, SYC will offer changes to its payment plan options in 2025.
- A $50 deposit per child is required at the time of registration.
- Families can make up to five installment payments on the 15th of each month from April through August. The number of installment payments is dependent on when registration is completed. All payments must be collected by September 1st.
These updates are designed to improve the registration process while maintaining the quality of SYC’s programs. By adjusting fees to reflect equipment costs, league changes, and more structured cheer program funding, SYC aims to provide a sustainable and effective experience for all participants. Families are encouraged to register early to avoid additional fees and take advantage of the payment plan options.
